Ancient Celtic Alphabet and Compass

I created the ANCIENT CELTIC ALPHABET AND COMPASS series of acrylic paintings in late 2023, when I was 94 years old. I employed the ancient art of stenciling in creating the series. The series was part of several series of paintings inspired by reflection about inter-group misunderstanding. It had occurred to me that such misunderstanding could be represented in paintings that present unintelligible texts. In the case of the ANCIENT CELTIC ALPHABET AND COMPASS series, I was also fascinated by the shapes of this ancient alphabet, which included only straight lines, and the roundness of the compass. The alphabet presented here may be regarded as the "national" script of the ancient North Germanic tribes.
